Managing exchanges or modifying an order is an important part of the online ordering process. ShipEarly supports exchanges where you can easily modify the product to a different SKU whether color, size, or change of mind to a completely different product. In order to facilitate an exchange without placing another order the item you are exchanging must be of equal or lesser value. Only orders that have not shipped are eligible to be modified.
Exchange an Item on Order
- Click the Orders tab. Exchanges can only be done from the orders tab, not your dashboard.
- Locate the order you are looking to modify and click on the Order Status. You can search by dealer, date range, order ID, consumers name or city.
- On the Ordered section of the order, click on the Edit button in the top right of the box
- The items on order will become editable, erase part of the item (ie. the color) to just modify one aspect of the item or erase the whole thing to completely modify the product title. Please note that we do display stock availability of items. If you have multiple warehouses, we even show inventory by warehouse.
- After editing the old product you would like to change to the new product, click the Save button.
- An order summary of the changes will appear asking you to confirm the modification. If the modification was to a lower priced item the consumer will automatically be refunded the difference and notified of the refund via email.
- Click Ok to confirm the modification, see screenshot of an example below.
- The dealer will be sent a notification informing them of the change on the order.
